You can upload video episodes on YourTrumanShow.com by clicking on the "Upload Episode" tab. The process consists of 3 quick and easy steps:
Step 1 - Insert the video episode title, description and tags and select a category. Remember that the more tags you use the easier it is for people to find your videos.
Step 2 - Select the file to upload. You can upload all the most common video formats, up to 100MB and 10min long. It will take a few seconds to several minutes depending on the file size and the speed of your internet connection.
Step 3 - Once the file upload is completed, you will can choose to add your video episode to a story. Each user account comes with a "default story". You can opt to:
- simply add your video episode to your default story.
- create a new story and add the video episode to it.
- add your video episode to one of the existing stories you had previously created.
A Story is a collection of Episodes. You can arrange the episodes in a story in the sequence of your choosing, much like episodes in a TV series.
Each user account comes with a "default story". By default every episode you create is stored in your default story.
You can create an unlimited number of stories and move any episode to any of the stories. For example, you may decide to create a story about a family road trip, another story for the videos you create at work and a third story that contains all of your cycling videos.
You can manage all of your video episodes and your stories by clicking on the "My Account" icon and selecting the "Manage Videos" section. You can modify the order in which your video episodes are arranged within a story, add or remove episodes to any of your stories..
V-Links are an innovative interface to navigate from one story to another.
Every time you are watching a video, the V-Link interface will appear on the right side of the screen. It contains:
- A timeline-like sequence of the episodes belonging to the same story.
- Links to video comments from other users.
- Links to video episodes that the creator of the video you are watching has decided to link up to.
You can link up any video episode from any user to any of your video episodes by clicking on the "Add to my V-Links" button. If you want to link up a video:
- Go to the specific video's page
- Click on the "Add to my V-Links" button.
- Select the story and episode you want to link up the video to.
There could be many reasons to link up two episodes. For example, you may want to link up your friends video episodes with yours, or you may want to link up someone's story about a trip to Hawaii to your video about your first surfing lesson in Maui, or you may want to link up your video about Grandma's turkey roast recipe with the video from your brother's cooking school, or...
On YourTrumanShow.com you can write a review about any video episode. Your review will be published on the episode's page for everyone to read.
Other users can rate your reviews by simply clicking on a three point rating system: positive (+), negative (-) and neutral (=).
